Snow by the Lake
Peachland’s lakeshore weather station records about 84 cm of snow in a normal year, a little less than Kelowna’s airport, with milder winter nights (Environment Canada, 1981–2010). On a metal roof, snow stops keep it from sliding off all at once.
Summer Heat
The same station averages about 14 days a year over 30 °C (Environment Canada, 1981–2010). Good attic ventilation lets that heat out, which is easier on the roof.
